Clay diyas lit for Diwali
Festive & pooja

Diyas, urlis, idols and lanterns

Cast brass and terracotta for Diwali, Navratri and the daily pooja. We stock the plain shapes people actually reorder, in the sizes that fit a real mandir rather than a photograph.

Order festive stock by the middle of September. Brass foundries close for weeks around Diwali and we cannot restock in time.

How we buy

From makers, not catalogues

Most of what we sell is made by hand in Indian craft clusters. Brass from Moradabad, blue pottery from Jaipur, cane from the North East, terracotta from Khurja.

That means variation. A hand-painted diya will not match its photograph exactly, and a thrown vase will differ by a few millimetres. We think that is the point, but we would rather say it plainly than have you find out on delivery.
